HONG KONG-BORN. VANCOUVER-BASED.
Craft, culture,
and a shared table.
Abraham Wong is a Hong Kong-born, Vancouver-based cooking instructor, chef, food designer and classical and jazz violinist. Through Bow to Plates, he teaches hands-on cooking classes that make technique approachable, explain the science behind a recipe, and bring the stories of food to life.
From shaping mooncakes to exploring new dishes, his classes invite people to learn by doing and leave with skills they can use at home. His mooncake teaching has been featured on CBC television and radio, Citytv and OMNI. He has also delivered a guest lecture on AI and Food Design for UBC Food Science students.
Abraham began playing violin at four and cooking at nine. Alongside teaching, he creates tailored private dining experiences with the option of live classical or jazz violin performed by him. He is also the founder of Nourvo, where he is developing high-protein frozen dim sum.
